How to 5-0 Grind on a Skateboard
The 5-0 Grind is has a similar concept towards 50-50 grind except instead of both trucks getting on the ledge it’s only your back truck. The key to this trick is balance, I don’t mean balancing like a manual but becoming able to control the shifting of your respective fat from back again to front without slipping out. Just to clear one thing up that I hear people argue about is that when doing a 5-0 grind it doesn’t matter if your tail touches the ledge, as extended as only your back truck is grinding.
Phase 1. Ride up towards ledge as you would in the event you were performing a 50-50.
Stage 2. Pop up towards ledge swinging your back again foot towards the ledge.
Action 3. As your inside the air your going to want to maintain your foot on the tail and shift your bodyweight back again, but not for the point where you’re going to fall backwards.
Tip. It helps in case you lean the top half of the body slightly forward to assist keep you in handle.
Move 4. Grind the ledge and maintain the correct balance between your upper and lower half. For 5-0 grinds it doesn’t matter if your tail is touching the ledge or not, as long as only your back truck is grinding.
Step 5. As you near the end of your respective grind start to shift your weight forward and slide off the ledge.
Move 6. Balance out your pounds and make sure your shoulders are square with the board.
Stage 7. Ride away with style and you’ve just learned hot to 5-0 Grind.
