Skateboarding has usually been a touchstone for me&#46&#32&#73 got my 1st skateboard at age 10 (prolonged, lengt&#104&#121&#32ago) and spent much of my time with my best friend&#44&#32&#68enice, cruising around our neighborhood, acting li&#107&#101&#32we had been surfing the wav<s></s>es of Waimea as we zoom&#101&#100&#32down freshly-paved asphalt streets on clay wheels &#97&#110&#100 solid wood decks with no grip tape (that’s what&#32&#116&#104e gummy soles of our Van’s had been made for, ya&#32&#107&#110ow).
So even now, when I get on my board, the feel&#105&#110&#103 of happy days return.
Maybe that’s why lately I&#226&#128&#153ve been far far more interested in just…skating.&#32&#87&#104en I got back into the sport in 2004, I caught the&#32&#98&#117g to find out new tricks, to drop in, etc. I hired&#32&#115&#101riously awesome pro Kim Petersen to coach me for a&#32&#102&#101w sessions.
But somewhere along the line, I either&#32&#103&#111t restless with the mechanics of it all, or too ch&#105&#99&#107en to push myself, or…something. And suddenly th&#101&#32&#117rge for a extended strip of smooth asphalt crept b&#97&#99&#107 into<s></s> my consciousness. I began hankering for pure&#44&#32&#117nadulterated F-L-O-W, the feeling of zooming, the &#101&#115&#115ence of skateboarding, the touchstone of my please&#100&#32&#99hildhood.
I salute and cheer for all who push thei&#114&#32&#108imits, find out new tricks, inspire us, amaze us, &#97&#110&#100 are somehow not swayed by slams (or the fear ther&#101&#111&#102!). Im thrilled that there is now a body of wom&#101&#110&#32to show the world what we can do on a skateboard. &#65&#110&#100 I’m content as hell that I can watch from the s&#105&#100&#101lines, applauding all of you for taking risks big &#97&#110&#100 little, whilst I go back to an earlier time and j&#117&#115&#116…zoom.
Later skaters!

If you’ve read anything about women who skateboa&#114&#100&#44 you’ll know that for each and every individual &#115&#107&#97teboarding means a multitude of things.

For some i&#116&#32&#105s their meditation, or their probability to bond w&#105&#116&#104 friends, or an chance to push themselves or any c&#111&#109&#98ination of these and numerous other things. For me&#32&#105&#116 really depends on the day as to what it’s, but anytime I am on &#116&#104&#101 park with my family it’s a great chance to bond&#32&#119&#105th my youngsters and share a thing we truly love t&#111&#32&#97cc<s></s>omplish.

Getting in a sport that genuinely focus&#101&#115&#32on individualism, my kids and I certainly do not s&#107&#97&#116e hand in hand. My son is commonly over on the big&#32&#98&#111wl dropping from the deep side trying to complete &#115&#111&#109e thing new and daring. My daughter is typically z&#105&#112&#112ing by means of the parts of the park she likes or&#32&#99&#104allenging herself to go increased and higher insid&#101&#32&#116he vert ramp. I’m normally pu<s></s>shing myself to do &#106&#117&#115t one new factor each time we are in the park even&#32&#105&#102 it i<s></s>s small. We do our own factor.

That becoming &#115&#97&#105d we’re there for a single another to cheer on, sympathize by wa&#121&#32&#111f the falls and have a great laugh. There’s nothing better than &#115&#104&#111wing m<s></s>y kids that I learned a thing new and having&#32&#116&#104em cheer me on, and vice versa. O<s></s>ur time at the sk&#97&#116&#101 park is not just about what we do as people, but &#114&#97&#116her a time for us to share, bond and appreciate on&#101&#32&#112articular another’s accomplishme<s></s>nts.

As my young&#115&#116&#101rs grow older and move into getting teenagers, I c&#97&#110&#32only hope that this time together is anything we c&#97&#110&#32share. Even when they want their distance the skat&#101&#112&#97rk and the sport of skateboarding will enable for &#116&#104&#97t. Skateboarding will always be what I need it to &#98&#101&#32personally regardless of whether that’s flow, ch&#97&#108&#108enge, or meditation. I can only hope it really is &#97&#108&#115o generally a chance for me to spend time with my &#99&#104&#105ldren.

You will discover tons of &#122&#105&#110es for the marketplace right now, but some are muc&#104&#32&#109uch more well-known than others.
Thrasher is one p&#97&#114&#116icular in the all time bigge<s></s>st and greatest in the&#32&#115&#107ating magazines. Not merely does it feature excell&#101&#110&#116 full color pictures on the hottest skaters and th&#101&#105&#114 moves, it also attributes information about music&#32&#97&#115 well as other alternative sports, so it’s an ex&#99&#101&#108lent journal for young men and women interested in&#32&#116&#104ings other than skateboarding. Some on the older i&#115&#115&#117es of Thrasher are really difficult to find, and c&#111&#117&#108d be worth a decent amount of funds if put into th&#101&#32&#104ands in the right collector. Thrasher is absolutel&#121&#32&#116he ideal selling skate journal around the market p&#108&#97&#99e and has been for years.

Transworld Skateboarding&#32&#78&#101wspaper is another truly well-liked selection for &#115&#107&#97ters. It comes out to press on the monthly basis a&#110&#100&#32keeps the material fresh. It attributes interviews&#44&#32&#108ists live events, trick tips, and far more. It als&#111&#32&#105ncluded travel stories from around the world and s&#107&#97&#116eboard <s></s>reviews so you’ll know what to purchase. &#84&#104&#101re are also monthly contests where readers can win&#32&#97&#32complete skateboard, along with a seriously good s&#101&#97&#114ching web page with lots of information and pictur&#101&#115&#46
Slap newspaper is a little bit newer to the indus&#116&#114&#121, but has gained a pretty big following since its &#105&#110&#99eption. A really colorful layout, a great deal of &#99&#111&#111l attributes, contests, and an excel<s></s>lent line of m&#101&#114&#99handise have helped add to its popularity. The mag&#97&#122&#105ne also includes a great deal of good reviews and &#110&#101&#119 music info. Slap’s site is constantly updated w&#105&#116&#104 good info and photos.

Adrenalin journal prides it&#115&#101&#108f in not just including data about skating, but sn&#111&#119&#98oarding as well as other extreme sport<s></s>s as well. T&#104&#101&#32journal is published quarterly on a global scale, &#97&#110&#100 is printed in many languages which includes Frenc&#104&#44&#32German, and Italian (and obviously English).
Concrete Wave is distinct &#102&#114&#111m Adrenalin journal in that its motto is “100% s&#107&#97&#116eboarding”. The journal prides itself on focusin&#103&#32&#119ithin the sport of skateboarding and nothing else.&#32&#84&#104e staff guarantees the newspaper will never stray &#102&#114&#111m this philosophy, and will strive to give its rea&#100&#101&#114s new methods of thinking when it comes to skatebo&#97&#114&#100ing. This has made Concrete Wave one with the top &#115&#107&#97ting magazines on the market these days.

Automatic&#32&#78&#101wspaper is an additional common skating zine, and &#102&#111&#99uses on photography as a major vessel in getting i&#116&#115&#32message out to readers. Creative layouts as well a&#115&#32&#116he promise that all of their pictures are not doct&#111&#114&#101d makes Automatic <s></s>a common favorite of additional &#101&#120&#112erienced skaters. It gives them the opportuni<s></s>ty to&#32&#115&#101e what kind of ramps and tricks are being employed&#32&#97&#110d who is hot about the scene.

These are just a few&#32&#105&#110 the several skateboarding magazines on the ma<s></s>rket&#32&#116&#104ese days. With some careful choosing, you’re bou&#110&#100&#32to locate one or two to claim as favorites. Most o&#102&#32&#116hese could be bought by the problem or by subsc<s></s>rip&#116&#105&#111n, so test the waters first and pick up a stray co&#112&#121&#32or a back concern until you discover the newspaper&#32&#116&#104at’s just suitable for you.

You do not really have to know the way to decrease&#32&#105&#110 to skate well and have fun. We’ve met some awes&#111&#109&#101 old school skaters who have skated their entire l&#105&#118&#101s without ever dropping in. It just isn’t requir&#101&#100&#32should you know ways to pump efficiently.

So we’&#114&#101&#32not saying you must understand to decrease in in t&#104&#101&#32e<s></s>vent you really do not want to.
What we’re sayi&#110&#103&#32is, should you would like to, it doesn’t have to&#32&#104&#117rt.

You’ve possibly seen the typical skater lear&#110&#105&#110g to decrease in at your park. He’s about seven &#121&#101&#97rs old. Perhaps he’s wearing pads and a helmet, &#109&#97&#121be he’s not. Goaded by his buddies, he teters on&#32&#116&#104e deck with the ramp or bowl, and gingerly places &#116&#104&#101 tail of his board for the coping. His close frien&#100&#115&#32yell helpful instructions for example, “Dude you&#32&#106&#117st gotta commit!” After waivering a moment, begi&#110&#110&#101r skater leans in … and slams. Gets up, tries on&#99&#101&#32again. Slams. Tries again. Slams. Over and more th&#97&#110&#46

Its painful to watch.
As older skaters, it is &#101&#118&#101n a lot more painful to discover this way. We real&#108&#121&#32do not heal as fast as the kids at the park. We’&#114&#101&#32bigger, and we
slam harder. We have the chipped ja&#119&#32&#98ones and massive hippers to prove it.

So when you&#128&#153&#114e ready to attempt dropping in, very first pad up.&#32&#84&#104en, enlist the aid of a close friend. Any trustwor&#116&#104&#121, tall, strong skater who knows ways to decline in&#32&#119&#105ll do. Have your buddy get within the ramp or bowl&#46&#32&#89ou stand for the deck. Your buddy reaches up to yo&#117&#32&#119ith both hands while you get down low, with your b&#97&#99&#107 foot on the tail of the board, and your tail with&#105&#110&#32the coping.

Grab your friend’s hands. Place your&#32&#102&#114ont foot within the front bolts, lean in, pump the&#32&#116&#114ansition on the way down, and let your good friend&#32&#103&#101ntly break your fall when you hit pavement.

Get up&#32&#117&#110scathed. Repeat, making adjustments a<s></s>s necessary t&#111&#32&#116he amount on the lean and also the timing with the&#32&#112&#117mp. Maintain doing this till you feel totally comf&#111&#114&#116able dropping in whilst holding both of your frien&#100&#226&#128s hands. Then try holding only one hand as you de&#99&#108&#105ne. Retain practicing, until you are barely touchi&#110&#103&#32fingers, and then … let go.
It’s truly that ea&#115&#121&#46
You possibly can do it! We know you possibly can.
&#10

Please do not belie&#118&#101&#32I’ll discover as quickly as you; face it, I’m 43 and not&#32&#105&#110 the best shape. If I fall, it takes me longer to &#103&#101&#116 up, longer to heal. It has nothing to perform wit&#104&#32&#116he fact that I’m a woman. It’s just harder som&#101&#104&#111w after all of these years off the board.

I broke &#98&#111&#116h femurs, shattered knees and one ankle in an auto&#32&#97&#99cident years ago. I still have a titanium rod from&#32&#104&#105p to knee and lots of hardware. My legs are uneven&#32&#97&#110d my memory isn’t the best from a closed brain injury. I’m not&#32&#119&#104ining though; I’m stoked!

I’m in fac<s></s>t undertaking this a&#103&#97&#105n . . . and I can! Yeah, I’m pretty proud of mys&#101&#108&#102 too. I’m healed and nobody can see the scars un&#100&#101&#114 my kneepads, shorts and shoes.

So in the event yo&#117&#32&#115ee me struggling with anything, cheer me on!!!! I&#128&#153&#109 performing little carves and going using the flow&#32&#97&#110d falling and obtaining correct back up.

We’re getting close to the return of the Dew Tour, and I can’t wait! June 25th&#32&#114&#101quirements to hurry up and get right here so I can&#32&#115&#101e all of the crazy tricks I haven’t even imagined yet! The tour &#115&#116&#97rts in Boston and need to give us some with the id&#101&#97&#108 skateboarding, BMX riding and FMX the world has a&#99&#116&#117ally seen. The Dew Tour, like the X Games, is know&#110&#32&#102o<s></s>r progressing the disciplines of skateboarding, B&#77&#88&#44 and FMX. The tour is five stops and is a season l&#111&#110&#103 contest. You can’t win one contest and get the cup, you have to&#32&#98&#101 consistent through all five stops to have a chanc&#101&#32&#97t the crown. That being said, here are the five gr&#101&#97&#116est skateboarding vert tricks actually thrown in a&#32&#99&#111ntest, according to me that’s.

Starting at #5 are each of the cr&#97&#122&#121 kick flips which have been pu<s></s>t down lately. I nev&#101&#114&#32thought the kick flip would be a normal part of a &#118&#101&#114t ro<s></s>utine, but all of the finalists at last year’s X Games had a&#116&#32&#108east 2 flip methods in their runs. From a regular &#107&#105&#99k flip to Danny Mayer’s kick flip Mc Twist, they are right here &#116&#111&#32stay in vert. The complexity of flipping the board&#44&#32&#99atching it, and placing back again beneath your fe&#101&#116&#32is obvious upon initial viewing. Kick flips add a &#103&#114&#101at amount of difficulty and excitement to any run.
&#10
&#79&#110 to #4, Shaun White’s 540 body varial, which he calls the Armadi&#108&#108&#111. The first time I saw this technique I was in tot&#97&#108&#32disbelief that he could rotate his body and board &#105&#110&#32that manner! Although carrying out a 540, he grabs&#32&#116&#104e board with his back again hand in front of his f&#114&#111&#110t foot and spins the board around and tucks it bac&#107&#32&#97gain below his feet with his hand on the back agai&#110&#32&#111f the board below his back foot. I had to watch th&#101&#32&#118ideo of this strategy many times to comprehend eve&#114&#121&#116hing that is happening. I have heard rumor that Sh&#97&#117&#110 is working on adding a kick flip to this key and &#104&#111&#112e it’s true.

Coming in a<s></s>t #3 is Danny Mayer’s kick flip Mc Twist. When Danny g&#101&#116&#115 into this technique it looks like he<s></s> is not going&#32&#116&#111 catch the flipping board as he rolls into the 540&#46&#32&#72e has to rotate the board when he kicks the flip s&#111&#32&#104e’s truly carrying out a kick flip 180 so the board keeps up wit&#104&#32&#116he rotation of his body.
